Chapter 1 … Friday 4:16PM: Getting to the Underground

Jeff, a forty-something aerospace executive wants to get out of his hotel in Atlanta on a Friday night. The hotel shuttle driver gives him suggestions including the strip clubs, but Jeff has decided he definitely does not want to go to a strip club, so ends up in heading the Atlanta Underground.

Chapter 2 … Friday, 5:08PM: Temptation

Jeff has landed in the Atlanta Underground where the hotel shuttle driver advised him to have a pocket full of dollars for the panhandlers. He finds himself in a woman’s clothing store captivated by Jennifer, the charming young sales lady who talks him into buying an expensive coat and scarf for his wife. She also offers to do a delivery to his hotel tomorrow. As he leaves he sees a Victoria’s Secret store, but decides that if he got in so much trouble in the other store the he will burn in hell in a Victoria’s Secret!

Chapter 3 … Friday, 5:56PM: The Mark

Pick, the charming con man takes Jeff around the Atlanta Underground, Jeff buying all along the way. Finally after dinner Pick convinces Jeff to go with him to Magic Town. Jeff figures that rabbits coming out of hats would be something he could tell his mother about, but when he rounds the corner he sees that there won’t be any rabbits coming out of hats here!

Chapter 4 … Friday, 10:08 PM: Magic Town

Soon Jeff is in the notorious Magic Town strip club pushing through the black curtain separating the bar from the entry hall, the tall doorman seeming to recognize Jeff seats him and Pick at a table in front of the long stage coming from the back wall. A minute later a dancer appears stripping as dollars rain upon the stage, the men around Jeff going crazy as he realizes he is the only white man in the club! Soon a stunning white woman appears on the stage, reluctant at first to take her clothes off as she dances. Hands push Jeff to the stage to give her a little encouragement only to have her yell down “What are you doing here? You’re going to screw this up!” After she leaves the stage the doorman appears saying Jeff's presence is wanted in front of the dressing room…

Chapter 5 … Saturday, 12:48 AM: The House

Shonna takes Jeff along for a little ride to a seedy neighborhood somewhere in south Atlanta where he spends the next few hours sleeping on a dusty couch while others gathered at a small table keep looking back at him in disbelief, and where he meets up with Pick again!

Chapter 6 … Saturday, 5:08 AM: Bernice and the Diner

Shonna takes Jeff to a shoddy little coffee shop where Jeff discovers the shocking truth about why he has been suddenly thrust into this middle of the biggest corruption scandal in Atlanta history!

Chapter 7 … Saturday, 6:12 AM: The Stakeout

Jeff has discovered that he is the absolute spitting image of the crooked Congressman, Frank Schedz, and Nancy has convinced him to play along. Now he follows her along to a stakeout at six in the morning looking for the Congressman so Jeff can deliver a message to him. He learns more about this beguiling woman as she sits with binoculars pressed to her eyes watching the house with two porch lights. Soon a parade of characters, the mayor, police chief, city council members and others come out of the house only to be followed by the signal that something has gone very wrong!

Chapter 8 … Saturday, 8:17 AM: What a Mess

Jeff finds himself in the house they were watching––with three murdered people and the congressman shot! The chaos of agents running in and out of the house leaves Jeff baffled as he sits on the couch as Shonna instructed him. He notices a sport coat exactly like his, pulls it over reaching into the pockets he discovers it’s the congressman’s jacket! Inside he finds all sorts of printouts that describe a criminal enterprise of enormous proportion, and in the side pocket Jeff discovers a gun! Back at the hotel they pore over Jeff’s discovery piecing together the scale of this criminal enterprise.

Chapter 9 … Saturday, 12:04 PM: Wanted Visitor

Back at the Sheraton, Shonna tells Jeff to get some sleep while she attends to a meeting up in Norcross. Jeff strips naked and climbs into bed, awakes a couple hours later. When he comes out of the bathroom he finds Jennifer, the beautiful store clerk from Ann Tallot’s yesterday, sitting in his room. A minute later she is naked from her sweater to the tops of her boots, then as they are laying naked together the unexpected happens!

Chapter 10 … Saturday, 5:02 PM: The Press Conference

Jeff discovered that he is the absolute spitting image of the crooked Congressman, Frank Schedz, and Nancy has convinced him to play along. Now he finds himself standing at a podium bristling with microphones with letters like ABC and CNN on them where he us about to fire a warning shot that will light up the bad guys!

Chapter 11 … Saturday, 5:34 PM: Back at the Hotel

Jeff is taken back to his hotel room where he finds equipment eves dropping on Magic Town––that press conference sure lit up the bad guys! When Jeff calls home his son says he saw Daddy on TV! Now Shonna tells him that Antonio, the owner of Magic Town, has asked for a meeting where she is sure that he wants to get on the good guys’ side. They prepare for the meeting, including the mole on Jeff’s right chin like the congressman that she puts on with an eyebrow pencil. So now off to Magic Town where Shonna is hoping to get names of the bad guys from Antonio. As they leave for Magic Town she hands Jeff the congressman’s gun!

Chapter 12 … Saturday, 9:08 PM: Antonio

Shonna takes Jeff to Magic Town followed by two FBI agents as muscle where she hopes Antonio will give up names of the bad guys.  Antonio, the mysterious gangster in the Panama hat Jeff saw last night in Magic Town dispatching the hoodlums to go raise hell, invites them to sit and have drinks. After Antonio tells them of how he steered his family across from Cuba to Miami, he says something startling that is about to bust open Shonna’s cover!

Chapter 13 … Saturday, 9:43 PM: Collaborator

Antonio has figured out Jeff is an imposter and Shonna is a cop! But Antonio desperately wants immunity and so he digs into his records and starts giving up names that Shonna had only had initials for. Antonio gives Jeff a tour of the criminals’ wretched scheme of extortion and violence, and Jeff is amazed at the scale of this whole operation!

Chapter 14 … Sunday, 12:28 AM: The Safe House

It’s not safe for Jeff to go back to his hotel! Jeff discovers that they have changed his business meeting that was planned for Monday with Jeff wondering they can do that? Shonna admits that she wishes it had been her with no panties in his hotel room this morning, and Jeff admits he wishes it was her, too. Soon he is at the ops house in Roswell where he meets Arnie, the senior FBI agent, for the first time and finds out that he will be under their protection!

Chapter 15 … Sunday, 7:22 AM: What’s Next?

Jeff awakes to Shonna laying next to him, wondering at this woman. She tells him that she is FBI and complains that the lifestyle doesn’t promote finding a relationship. They kiss for the first time; he decides that he needs to be a different person, a new man so he can open himself to the experience he hopes to have with Shonna. He sits in on his first team meeting but is discouraged that they cannot seem to come to any consensus as he remembers Antonio’s words Take them out all at once! But what to do with it?

Chapter … 16: Sunday, 10:18 AM: A Plan Emerges

Jeff is baffled at how this room filled with smart people can’t seem to make sense of the case. He realizes that they are doing it all wrong! Jeff is certain they can’t solve the case, so why are they even trying … all they need to do is catch the bad guys and figure it out later! He remembers a story from Sherlock Holmes and a plan emerges. Shonna realizes there’s something they don’t know about the layout of Magic Town, that there must be another exit. She tells him that there is one more person that they have left out of the equation. When Jeff asks who that is…

Chapter 17 … Sunday, 12:34 PM: Back Again to Magic Town

As they are leaving the safe house to go back to Magic Town, Jeff is handed the congressman’s 38-caliber Colt Cobra pistol! They are heading back to Magic Town to invite Antonio to their little Birdie Edwards party to be held tomorrow at Magic Town. They investigate the mysterious door next to the club’s back door and discover a tunnel leading to a warehouse behind the club that explains how people appear in the club without entering or leaving. Shonna leaves Jeff in the lit-up bar watching janitors cleaning the bar when suddenly she calls out to him JEFF GET IN HERE! They discover Antonio has been shot! His body guards murdered! Shonna leaves Jeff in Antonio’s office with the instructions to shoot at anything that comes through that door!

Chapter 18 … Sunday, 12:48 PM: Unwanted Visitors

Shonna left Jeff in Antonio’s office with the instructions to shoot at anything that comes through that door! Antonio has been shot; he starts to come to, but he doesn’t name the shooter! But Antonio says one word clearly, “Inside.” What inside? Soon Jeff hears sounds in the hallway, voices though the door, a whisper, so faint, “I won’t let that happen again.” What? What won’t he let happen again? Suddenly the door knob starts to turn! Jeff stands up, gun straight-armed at the door! As the door slowly opens …

Chapter 19 … Sunday, 3:35 PM: Reluctant Shooter

The team speculates about what was happening here and at the word “Inside” spoken by Antonio. As the discussion turns to squabbling Jeff is certain they are missing something. They figure out that the victims knew and trusted the shooter! And that the shooter wasn’t a professional, maybe even reluctant! Finally as the meeting ends Shonna turns to Jeff and says that it is time for them to turn him into a prick.

Chapter 20 of Magic Town … Sunday 4:34 PM: Laying the Net

Jeff finally meets Joel, the congressman’s chief aid, and Jeff is disgusted with this arrogant ass. He and Shonna take a drive to see the crooked city council members, then to the chief of police who pulls a gun on Jeff, but he shrugs it off leaving the Chief stunned. Then they go to see the mayor who pulls a gun on them, but thanks to Arnie they have a little surprise in store for the mayor …

Chapter 21 of Magic Town … Sunday, 9:32 PM: “I killed a man”

Jeff finds out that his volley of bullets through Antonio’s office door killed Snake Arm. He can’t believe that he actually killed someone! Shonna and Jeff talk over what happened, Jeff still uncertain that it could have been Snake Arm who was the shooter yesterday; how could he get so close to his victims? They have found out that Joel is the main man for sure! Now to plan for the big meeting tomorrow where they hope to nab all the bad guys at once!

Chapter 22 … Monday, 2:37 AM: Fallen

DON’T MISS JEFF AND SHONNA NAKED TOGETHER!

Jeff wakes up in the middle of the night with Shonna next to him. He sits in the darkness wondering at this woman, what would it be like to make love to her? She wakes up and says, “Why are you up, why aren’t you in bed with me?” then, “Uh, sorry, I didn’t really mean that,” Jeff thinking oh yes you did! Jeff goes to take a shower when suddenly he hears, “You were taking too long, so I figured I better get in here with you!” He turns to see Shonna naked in the shower with him! They instantly are in each others’ arms when suddenly Shonna turns to Jeff with a start, “Oh my god, Jeff, oh my god! We did it, oh, Jeff, I did it. Oh goddam you Nancy! Stupid Nancy!” then she jumps out of the shower!

Chapter 23 of Magic Town … Monday, Noon: The Trap

YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS THE GREAT SHOOT OUT!

This is the moment they have been waiting for! At noon all the bad guys will assemble in Magic Town where Jeff will pretend to be the congressman announcing that this enterprise is dissolved. But before he can make the announcement Joel shows up furious that the meeting was held without him! Soon guns are drawn as Shonna and Jeff slowly slowly slowly leave the room, Jeff escaping through the infamous counting room in the basement, joining Shonna near the front door. Suddenly THE DRAGON ROARS!

Chapter 24 … Monday, 12:28 PM: A Bad Meeting

DON’T MISS THE DANGER WHEN THEY ENCOUNTER PERKINS!

Jeff and Shonna escaped Magic Town where everyone murdered each other! Now they have made a desperate escape to the warehouse at the end of the secret tunnel they found yesterday. They emerge into the warehouse to find Jennifer from Jeff’s hotel room on Saturday! Then they are confronted by Perkins holding a gun and find out Perkins’ terrible secret!

Chapter 25 … Monday, 12:57 PM: Choice to Make

They lead Perkins back to Magic Town as Jeff carries Jennifer over his shoulder – both holding guns on Perkins. Soon Jeff, Shonna, and Arnie are drinking beers with Jennifer for relief of everything that’s happened. Then Arnie has a little talk with Jennifer about her enterprising ways with married men after she gives one more grateful gift to her former employer at Ann Tallots. Then Jeff and Shonna are off to Norcross for their night together!

Chapter 26 … Monday, 4:28 PM: Three Missing Words

Shonna takes Jeff to the Hilton up in Norcross where they have a wonderful evening where she makes Jeff do a strip dance for her followed by sex, sex, sex and more sex … and where he tells her the three missing words from his speech in Magic Town. They speak of love and devotion, and his need to call her by her real name, Nancy.

Chapter 27 … Monday 9:38 PM: A Scary Night Out

DON’T MISS THE HIT MAN SENT TO KILL JEFF!

Jeff decides he wants to be seen in public with Nancy and so they go out to a restaurant. Suddenly Pick appears in the shadows calling to Jeff, then dragging Jeff out the back of the restaurant to the parking lot. He tells Jeff that a hit man is in the restaurant and there to murder him! Nancy is no where to be seen! Pick pulls Jeff out into the middle of the dark parking lot as the hit man appears! Then Pick slugs Jeff!

Final chapter of Magic Town … Tuesday, 12:14 PM: Parting

At last the great Magic Town adventure is over. Nancy packs Jeff into a private jet for the flight home to Seattle. Their tearful goodbye pulls at us watching Jeff struggle with leaving this beautiful woman with the golden eyes behind as he goes back to his suburban life. Jeff is forced through the formality of signing papers saying he will never speak of this adventure to anyone …
